Good karma’s of past and present life help,just changing spellings in one’s name are no use and it is a foolish to expect change in fortunes or good luck by just changing your name.If name changes could change fortunes the numerologists would be the most successful,happiest and wealthiest people.

Tusshar Kapoor went on record in print to say,if names changed fortunes the world would not have been what it is like,and Shobhaa De also put it on record and also told me that the extra ‘a’ in her name was for aesthetic value. How true.Shobhaa De was as famous when she wrote ‘Starry Nights’,’Socialite Evenings’ and all literary fame came when she was Shobha without the extra ‘a’. Amitabh Bachchan despite a wrong spelling of 43 has been the only ‘legend’.Lara Dutta(26),Aishwarya Rai(25),Sushmita Sen(13/40) were all Miss Universe/World with their own names,but later in movies only Aishwarya has been able to make it to number one.

The examples make it clear that karma is central to success not spellings of names.

An equal number of Ekta Kapoor’s serials with ‘K’ have flopped.Movies like ;Kagaz ke phool’ were initially flop,but after a few years became all time hits.Jackie Shroff couldn’t succeed in his ‘Boom’,despite wearing gems and advocating their guranteed success in advertisements.Sholay(20) with a wrong numerological spelling also was a superhit.

In my column, since the very first issue I have been highlighting that every number has a positive and negative aspect,it is upon us how we choose to live,on the positive path or negative.

No number is bad and no day is bad.It is for convenience we use terms as ‘lucky days’,since most of us are rooted in mundane things and desire material success.Just as the negative side of number 18 is one of treachery,violence and a blood stained path,the positive one is of spiritualism and success in military activities.Shivaji(18),the great Maratha warrior king is a classical example of exemplary success in war, if 44 gives success in practical undertakings,it also gives failure when one become’s too ambitious for fame.If 11 signifies adversities,hidden dangers,it also is a mystic number.(Sai Baba) personifies living in adversities for the larger human good. 26 is good if you follow your intuition but may bring losses through bad unions.

Very few may know that Swami Vivekananda would change his name very often before going to the U.S.In earlier years he was Naren,then Vividishananda or Sachchidananda,of cours the purpose was esoteric.

The world famous numerologist Cheiro himself admitted to limitations of name changes and used other sciences like palmistry and astrology to study the karmic trend indicated to prophesise.

It is not without reason our great reformers Swami Dayananda Saraswati and Guru Nanak condemned predictive sciences like astrology.They did not deny the science but the weakening of ‘free will’ and effort and belief in superstition it spread as it is doing today. Only karma can cut karma.Thought is all important,for “what we think we become”.
