the power of swastika

by Anupam V Kapil

The Swastika is the most famous mystical symbol of power being used in the ancient eastern world for over 3000 years. Modern times remember it as the symbol of Nazi Germany and their persecution of the Jews. In 1920, Adolf Hitler used it reverse on the flag as the official emblem of the Nazi Party. Even he was a bit surprised by the impact it had on people. It is undoubtedly one of the most effective political symbols ever devised.

Traditionally this is supposed to give the symbol a "black magic" sort of power. Hitler demanded that the Nazi Swastika point "clock-wise", which to Buddhists signifies "cessation" or "away from God".

Adolf Hitler used the Swastika in the reverse way on the left shoulder to gain power through the evil way, just as the reverse of the Holy number 999 is number 666 which is the number of the Beast, the anti Christ. Used in China as wan, as Fylfot in Britain, as Hakenkreuz in Germany and as tetraskelion in Greece, "swastika" in Sanskrit means "su" (good), "asti" (to be) and "ka" a suffix. It also means “well-being,” “auspicious” - the perennial symbol of good fortune, a symbol of Lord Vishnu’s discus, the Jaina cross, the Buddhist “wheel of the Law”. The Dalai Lama's throne is always decorated with four Swastikas. Before execution of the last Russian Czar in 1917, the Romanoff girls embroidered lucky swastikas on fabric before their deaths by the Bolsheviks.

In Bali, Shiva's lingam (penis) is a Swastika. Occult Swastikas include Theosophists, Rosicrucians, Masons, Golden Dawn, Pythagorus, Madame Blavatsky, Krishnamurti, and Aliester Crowley who claimed Hitler stole the Swastika from him. The right hand (clockwise) Swastika is used by these religions which practice ahimsa ( non-violence) since ancient times. It should never be mistaken as the left-hand (counterclockwise) Swastika. Rudyard Kipling used it in all his books up until 1933.

In Hindu ceremonies Swastika is worshipped as the symbol of Ganesha and is marked along with the sign of Navagrahas. Found on the genital shields of aboriginal Brazilian women, Greek priestesses branded Swastikas on their arms.

Goddess figures dug up at ancient Troy by Dr. Schliemann have Swastikas on the vulva. Romans took the Swastika with them on their march across Europe. Incidentally in Sanskrit the term Swasta means calm or peaceful. The Theosophical Society adapted the seal with the Swastika from H. P. Blavatsky’s personal seal in 1875. One can use the magical power of swastika for one’s personal benefit by energizing it in a proper way in a proper metal combination and in a right nakshatra. In numerology those born under fate number 1,3 and 9 can use it to maximum advantage if the Sun is positioned well in the birth chart.
